Question about serial killers and sociopaths???!!!!!!!?

A few weeks ago me and a friend were talking about love, and then he said had he found love maybe there would have never been a Jeffrey Dahmer. (I know a lot about Jeffrey Dahmer and how he searched for a fantasie lover.) If people like him do find love or whatever they desire will they not turn into a sociopath or serial killer? I read in a magazine serial killers are often turn out to be people who expressed a fascination with fire, , torturing animals, and superstitions at a young age. It also said a killer will live out killling or ual fantasies and most come from troubled homes. If you don't come from a troubled home and have some or all of these fascinations will you still become a deranged killer?
