Parents: When you and your spouse disagree with parenting?

LOL. Oh goodness. Is this your first/only child? By the sound of your husband's reaction, it is. I personally think you were right, and I would have done the same thing. Does your husband plan on letting your child(ren) run your life? A happy marriage = happy parents = happy children. Spending time alone together is very important. (of course there are exceptions, like, your child is sick, hurt, or had not stopped crying for an extended period of time.) There is no "right way" to deal with these arguments. Just hope that as they present themselves, they can be discussed and a compromise can be made. - One thing you can feel great about: your husband obviously loves the little guy tremendously!
